Last summer, I was working in southern France when sunflower season hit and the world turned yellow. I began a series of oil paintings, trying to capture the vivid color of the landscape and the heat of the season. On July 18, sixteen of the paintings will be available as fine art prints on canvas in the Tournesol collection, named for the french word for sunflower which refers to the way they turn their faces toward the sun throughout the day.
I’m so pleased to share these paintings with you! They bring back wonderful sun-drenched memories for me, of long summer nights, the smell of oil paint, of being surrounded by rolling fields of yellow.
